An intrinsic part of the Thai way of life is ”making merit”. Throughout their lives, Thai people strongly believe in karmic giving, the act of regularly merit making to monkproviding aid, assistance and donations to bring happiness and a peaceful life to others.  By doing so they believe that they themselves earn good will, gaining the strength needed to overcome any obstacles or misfortunes that life may present, and accumulating merit that will help them to be in a peaceful place when life draws to a close.

merit-tourOn this very special day we will spend the day among the local Krabi people. We visit the morning market, temple, have breakfast with the Thai people in the Thai way.
Visit Koh Klang which is only 5 minutes by boat from the Krabi town centre, this is truly where you will see Krabi dated as it was before the arrival of the mass tourism in the modern day. Typical village lifestyle and arts such merit tour breakfastas batik painting, rice farming and wooden handicrafts; you will experience this unspoiled beauty of the Krabi seascape and the slow village fishing life where times appear to have stood still.

07.00 Arrive at Krabi Town Morning Market.
Experience the unique colours, aromas and flavours of a traditional
Thai market, selling fresh fruits, vegetables and Thai food.
08.00 The offering of rice to Buddhist monks.
The ancient tradition of offering food to monks or ”Tak Bat” in Thai, involves getting up at the break of
day to go to the morning market to buy food and flowers and ser up a ”stall” from where to offer alms.
Since on of the 227 rules the monk live by is that they cannot buy, ask for or cook
food provided to them, in order to survive they must go out in the morning to receive food from
Buddhist followers; from people who believe they are gaining merit by giving.
08.30 Breakfast at Thai local Restaurant “Dim Sum” where you will enjoy a delicious
Southern Thai breakfast served with traditional Thai coffee.
10.00 Longtail boat to Koh Klang. Local School Visit - Another form of making merit you can experience
here is to assist the local children by providing a simple meal or much needed teaching materials
and school books. This program is guaranteed to put a smile both on your face and kids.
10.30 Walk around in Koh Klang to see and experience the real local life.
You will see different kind of animals, lots of Thai Spices growing and lots of
beautiful plants and fl owers, and for a fi nal merit making act, this time giving back to nature by
planting local Fruit tree or Thai herbs.
12.00 Longtail boat back to Krabi mainland
12.15 Return journey to your hotel and on the way we take for tasting Thai local pancake “Roti” or
“Kanom Krok” another Thai traditional snack with peace of mind and a better Karma!
